Amir Abbas was born in Tehran, Iran in 1981. He began learning Tomback when he was eight years old from Amir Hejazi. Later, He began to study the Daf and practiced both instrument concurrently.

Amir entered the Sureh University to study music. In 2002, he migrated to the United States to continue his education. Since then he has been studying and teaching music in the southern California.
